Vieux Château Certan 1982

This is one of the most prestigious chateaux in Pomerol. The soil is a mixture of iron-rich clay and gravel, making it an ideal terroir for Merlot-based wines. Many of the vines are over 50 years old, producing grapes with a sense of concentration. The winemaking style is traditional and refined, emphasizing elegance over excessive richness.

1982 is a legendary vintage throughout Bordeaux, and Pomerol in particular is known for its "perfect ageing potential," a great vintage that can withstand aging for over 40 years. The Cabernet Franc is particularly outstanding, showing increased spice and complexity, perfectly harmonizing with the rich fruitiness of the Merlot.
