This winery, owned by the Rothschild family, enjoys a prime location in the Pomerol region. The vineyards are made of a mixture of clay and gravel soil, which produces rich flavors and elegant tannins. Considered one of Pomerol's most refined wines, it is primarily made with Merlot and a blend of Cabernet Franc. Its rich fruitiness and depth are combined with an elegant, smooth finish. Unlike other wineries, its refined style and superbly balanced winemaking are what make it so appealing. Renowned for its rare wines, few of which are available on the market, making them difficult to find. The 2010 vintage is highly regarded as an excellent wine. The warm weather in 2010 allowed the Merlot grapes in particular to ripen perfectly, resulting in rich fruit and smooth tannins. The grapes were carefully selected, and the unique soil of Pomerol gives the wine depth and complexity. The nose displays fruity aromas of black cherry, plum, and cassis, along with nuances of spice, truffle, and tobacco. The palate is powerful, with a mellow texture and a long finish. This wine has the potential for long aging, and will only become more appealing with time. |
