Located in Pessac-Léognan in the Graves region of Bordeaux, this world-renowned wine producer has the longest history of any of the five great Bordeaux chateaux, having been producing wine since the 16th century. In the 1855 Médoc classification, it was the only chateau from the Graves region to be awarded a First Growth. As the name Graves suggests, the soil is characterized by a mixture of pebbles, and the well-drained, warm climate produces elegant wines that age well. 2009 is one of the great vintages in history. Ideal weather conditions allowed for perfectly ripe grapes to be harvested, resulting in a wine that combines concentration and elegance. This wine perfectly combines luxurious, sensual fruitiness with elegant tannins. It is excellent to drink now, but will reach its ultimate flavor with further aging. This wine possesses the overwhelming presence you expect from a first-growth chateau. |
