Located in Saint-Émilion on Bordeaux's right bank, this prestigious Château has long held the "Premier Grand Cru Classé A" ranking, the highest ranking in Saint-Émilion's classification (though it will voluntarily withdraw from the ranking in 2022). While Saint-Émilion is dominated by Merlot, this estate boasts a high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Located on the border between Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, its gravelly and clay soils provide an ideal environment for Cabernet Franc to thrive. Producing wines that combine elegance and power, this Château is one of the finest and most refined wines on the right bank. The 2010 vintage saw large temperature differences between day and night, allowing the grapes to ripen slowly, resulting in a concentrated yet elegant wine with perfect balance, making it one of the great vintages in history. Along with 2009, this is a representative example of the great Cheval Blanc, a wine that beautifully combines the elegance of Cabernet Franc with the power of Merlot. It is a must-have for collectors, and is expected to evolve further with long-term aging. |
