The estate held the "Premier Grand Cru Classé A" ranking in the Saint-Émilion classification, one of the most prestigious wines in Saint-Émilion, until its own withdrawal in 2022. Located on a steep, south-facing slope in Saint-Émilion, in a special location on Bordeaux's right bank, the estate's limestone-based soil produces a mineral and elegance that is characteristic of its wines. With an annual production of approximately 18,000 bottles, the estate is extremely rare, and is one of the "Great Eight Châteaux of Bordeaux," along with the "Great Five Châteaux," Petrus, and Cheval Blanc. 2005 was considered a "historic great vintage" throughout Bordeaux, and this wine received a perfect score of 100 points, making it a masterpiece that maximizes the elegance and long-term aging potential of its Cabernet Franc-based grapes. |
